Suppressor Demo

I have been considering a suppressor for a long time and I was interested in something I could run on My 7.62 Larue obr and also on my 5.56 ar15s.
I met Tom at one of the mammoth sniper challenges and have been ding donging him with suppressor questions ever since.
Last Monday Jessie and I finally drove the 3.5 hours up to Thunder Valley to see Tom Sarver and try out one of the titanium shark .308 cans. I wanted to try one out on my .308, one of my.223s and a .223 with a .22 kit in it.
I also wanted to shoot a few groups through the can to examine its effect on accuracy.
Now to tell the truth that is probably taking advantage of the “demo” that Tom offered me, but I was also getting ready to drop what is to me a very substantial pile of money and Tom was super about letting us try his cans out.
He screwed one shark onto my Obr and another onto one of my .223 ar15s and let us go over to his 1000 yard + range and shoot our groups and generally giggle like little girls while playing with nearly $3000 of his inventory.
The cans were extremely lightweight and had little noticeable effect on the handling of the rifles and were extremely quiet. Accuracy was every bit as good with the can on as it was with it off and the recoil impulse was cut drastically.
The weather was horrible with high winds and snow out on his range. Snow kept filling the eyepieces of my optics so we didn’t spend as long shooting as we would have liked. But we did have a great time and learned a lot about the suppressors while we were at it.
When we finally came inside, Tom sat and answered all of our questions with the patience of a saint and let us play with a few more of his toys while we talked.
Tom made the whole suppressor buying ordeal as painless as I could ask for. He supplied a NFA attorney to set up a trust for me and will let me use my can anytime that I would like up at his range while I wait for my form 4 to come back. This should make the wait a lot more bearable.
The only bad part is the fact that I already want to buy one of his Sparrow Silencer that he showed us for my .22s!
Bottom line, if you are thinking of getting a suppressor and you want to deal with a good guy who knows his stuff give Tom a try at Thunder Valley Precision.
Many Thanks
Rusty
